The CB&Q Mississippi River bridge as viewed from Prospect Point in 1958.  This image was used on
the Burlington's 1968 wall calendar to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the 1st bridge crossing
  the river here.                                                                                                               CB&Q Photo

   The West Burlington Hill being conquered by M2-A #6138 helping a Burlington-built O5-A #5617 on a
crisp Autumn day in the early 1950's.  An  assault on the hill, hauling tonnage up the 5-mile long 1.18
percent ruling grade, was a spectacle to be seen and heard to truly be appreciated!
